VILONIA -- A strong first half kick-started Maumelle (2-0) over Vilonia (0-2).
Zyon Slade and Skyler McClure each scored a pair of first-half touchdowns for the Hornets. Slade's 70-yard kickoff return with less than a minute remaining put Maumelle up 40-12 at halftime.

Maumelle also scored a safety in the third quarter, followed by quarterback Jonathan Reyes' 42-yard touchdown pass to Demetress Williams.
