FAYETTEVILLE -- Police say Levi Land, a suspect in a domestic dispute stabbing, is being sought in Madison County after abandoning his vehicle during a police chase.

Sgt. Anthony Murphy, police spokesman, said Land left a home at 524 S. Gabbard Drive before officers arrived Tuesday morning. A woman at the home, whose name wasn't released, was given first aid before being taken to a local medical facility.

Murphy said the stabbing resulted from a domestic dispute. Murphy said Land is wanted in connection with battery.

Land was found in Madison County but fled before abandoning his vehicle along a rural county road, Murphy said.

The investigation is continuing.
