A spirited 65th

Central class of ’54 reunion celebrates good old days

Members of the class of 1954 -- the first class to graduate from Little Rock Central High School -- gathered Oct. 19 for a Southern-style party in Scott.

Classmate Bitsy Davis hosted the party at her plantation, the Ashley-Alexander House. She was joined by co-hosts Dana Ritchie and Georgia Bobo who all pitched in to arrange the outdoor supper. Tables were dressed in Central's colors of black and gold. Centerpieces were pumpkins resting on magnolia leaves.

Some of the Tiger alumni traveled from all over the country to attend their 65th reunion. Many arrived via a tour bus. After the party, Davis pledged to hold another reunion in five years.

The high school was known as Little Rock High School when it was constructed in 1927. It was renamed Little Rock Central High School in 1953 when construction began on Hall High School.
