Leader of football Hogs not ready for Arkansas

Chad Morris may be OK at some NCAA school as head football coach, but not at Arkansas. There in nothing in Morris' kit bag that complements the heritage of the Razorbacks.

Problems include:

A) Predictable play calling selected from about eight plays.

B) Ineffective pass plays with off-target throws, with simple corrections identified by game announcers.

C) Consistent inability to score a touchdown within the 20-yard line.

D) Lack of defensive strategies to contain runs in the middle.

E) Being convinced that all that's needed is a few adjustments.

News organizations attempt to control opinion shaping

On July 28, the first line of a front-page, top-of-the-fold article "compiled by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette staff" was "President Donald Trump lashed out at a leading black congressman ... ."

Why did the Democrat-Gazette staff think it was necessary to write "leading black congressman" instead of "Rep. Elijah Cummings," who was indeed the object of a Trump tweet that began with Cummings' name and never mentioned his race? The implication was that Cummings' race was the object of the president's ire rather than Cummings himself for "lashing out" in a shouted tirade interrupting and criticizing Homeland Security Chief Kevin McAleenan's attempts to answer Cummings' questions before Cummings' House Oversight and Reform Committee. Anyone viewing the clips of Cummings' tirade would surely already know Cummings was an angry black man.

I realize that much of the Democrat-Gazette article was cut and pasted from other sources, but the staff should not need to perpetuate the media bias that nearly always mentions race first if the president is critical of any non-caucasian. I've never seen a media article that says, "The president lashed out at a leading white congresswoman" when he tweets about Nancy [Pelosi], but anytime Trump is critical of someone considered "a person of color," it is nearly always mentioned first before any names are given.

Unfortunately the Democrat-Gazette is only one of many news organizations that appear to be biased against President Trump. I Googled "lashed Out" and found seven of the top 10 news stories said "Trump lashes out" and two of the other three included "Trump under fire" and "Trump's racist remarks." The media also seems hung up on the idea that the Russians might try to influence the 2020 election and I suspect it is because many media columnists, talking heads (and staffs?) believe it is their purview and theirs alone to shape public opinion and influence the 2020 election.
