WOMEN'S SOCCER

Smith's goal lifts ASU

Olivia Smith scored in the 96th minute to lift Arkansas State University to a 1-0 overtime victory over Georgia Southern on Friday in Jonesboro.

Both teams had seven shots on goal, and Meghan McClure made two saves in posting the shutout for the Red Wolves (8-4-2, 4-1-2 Sun Belt). Sallie Newton made three saves for Georgia Southern (5-8-1, 2-4-1).

Hendrix falls to Berry

Hagan Griffith scored for Hendrix College (6-6-5, 1-3-1 Southern Athletic Association) in the 51st minute in a 3-1 loss to Berry on Friday at Warrior Field in Conway.

Vanessa Belanger scored twice for Berry (7-5-2, 2-2-1), which won despite being outshot 18-14.

Avery Jensen and Anna Claire Lewis both made two saves for Hendrix.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Arkansas dominates in Wisconsin

The University of Arkansas placed four runners in the top nine and won by 36 points in the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Friday.

Arkansas won the meet with 62 points while Stanford had 98.

Individually, Taylor Werner of the Razorbacks finished third in 19 minutes, 52.20 seconds. Katie Izzo finished fifth in 19:59.40. Devin Clark was seventh in 20:05.80, and Carina Vilojen was ninth in 20:09.80.

VOLLEYBALL

Henderson State sweeps East Central

Henderson State University defeated East Central (Okla.) 25-14, 25-17, 25-15 on Friday in Arkadelphia.

Sabrina Show led Henderson State (14-9, 5-4 Great American Conference) with 13 kills while Courtney Bolf had 11 and 15 digs. Abby Blackburn had 22 assists and eight digs for Henderson.

Zainya Norvell led East Central (2-22, 0-9) with seven kills.
