Allowing topless women not good for the country

Good grief! What is happening to this country?

On TV news the other evening, I heard that, because of a federal court ruling, women in Oklahoma can go topless in public.

Disgusting, in my humble opinion.

What has happened to our indecent exposure law? Women claim that men go topless, so they can, too.

I hope not very many women will want to run around with no top on.

What if little children are watching?

That song that goes "Time was when a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking, now heaven knows anything goes," is so true.

And now to change the subject: This will probably be my last letter because I've moved into the lovely Shiloh nursing facility in Springdale.

You can be sure I will still read this fine paper every day. So, adios, amigos.

"So, here's to you. May your skies be blue and your love blest, that's my best to

you."

A tribute to a veteran devoted to colleagues

On Oct. 2, 2019, at 14:30 hours, the American flag was struck the final time for a patriot. On that date and time, a veteran who aggressively championed the rights and benefits of Arkansan veterans ended his last crusade. On that date and time, a fiercely loyal member of many veteran service organizations (i.e., MOAA, American Legion, FNCAC, etc.), ended his membership in those groups. On that date and time, a dedicated member of the Singing Men of Arkansas joined the heavenly choir he so longed for. Finally, on that date and time, I learned of the passing of a fellow comrade-in-arms, a man I deeply respected and a dear friend.

Lt. Col. Steve Gray, USAF (Ret.), is now at home with his Lord and Master experiencing no tears and no pain. Even though Steve was career Air Force and I was career Navy, I never held that against him, nor he against me. We would constantly jab one another about each other's service organizations and be amazed at our creativity.

That brings me to the closing of this letter: The highest honor a swabby could pay to a zoomie is, "Fair winds and following seas, shipmate."
