Severe storms may occur Wednesday evening and overnight ahead of a likely weekend cold front in Northwest Arkansas.

There will be a marginal, but growing risk of storms with large hail and damaging winds in the area as Thursday progresses, according to the National Weather Service's website.

The possibility of rain will increase in the region as thunderstorms develop in eastern Oklahoma and move towards the Arkansas border during the next twenty-four hours.

Temperatures in Northwest Arkansas are expected to drop on Friday and into Saturday and Sunday, according to the site.

Saturday morning temperatures could dip into the 30s, or even below freezing in Northwest Arkansas.
