GENTRY -- Police are investigating a shooting incident on Monday just south of Arkansas 12 in Gentry.

Police said the shooting was reported about 8:30 p.m. at 409 S. Giles Ave.

According to Police Chief Clay Stewart, no one in the home was injured, but pellets from a shotgun were found embedded in the front door of the home. A neighbor who heard the blasts reported seeing someone in a hoodie leaving the scene and headed southwest from the home.

The area was sealed off by law enforcement officers from Gentry, Benton County Sheriff's Office and neighboring police departments, and police used a tracking dog to try to find the shooter but were unsuccessful.

Gentry police are continuing to investigate the incident and have some persons of interest, according to Stewart.
