VIDEO: Beaver Dam spillway open after heavy rain

All seven spillway gates at Beaver Dam are open one foot, releasing water after heavy rain overnight in Northwest Arkansas.

Beaver Lake level hit 1129.6 at 10 a.m. Thursday. The gates are releasing water at a rate of 11,250 cubic feet per second, according to a Thursday news release.

The National Weather Service reported about 2.5 inches of rain at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport and about 1.5 inches in Fayetteville Tuesday night to Thursday morning, according to a social media post from the National Weather Service.

A flash flood watch is in effect through noon Thursday for much of the region, according to another post.
