Leaving behind "our Cross Church family and the relationships with so many people for so many years" was the hardest part of accepting a position with the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee in Nashville, Tenn.

All four campuses of Cross Church will meet in Bud Walton Arena Sunday, May 19, for Dr. Ronnie Floyd's last Sunday as the church's senior pastor.

Thousands are expected to attend the event, which will be the first time that all of the church's congregations will be together for one service, according to a news release from the church.

The 9:30 a.m. service will see Floyd transfer his position to his son, Dr. Nick Floyd, who has been the teaching pastor at Cross Church Fayetteville for eight years.

Ronnie Floyd is leaving the church to take a position as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention's Executive Committee. Floyd was elected as the next president on April 2.
