Dr. Kevin Fitzpatrick is a professor of sociology at the University of Arkansas who is actively engaged in local efforts to ease the burdens of homelessness and create paths of assistance to help bring people out of such circumstances.

In this edition of “Speaking of Arkansas,” we discuss a new project in Fayetteville designed to usher “unsheltered” people from the woods toward permanent housing. We also discuss the challenges to those efforts and whether Dr. Fitzpatrick gives panhandlers anything when he spots them on the area’s street corners.
