Greenwood 8, Fort Smith Southside 1

Landry Jurecka tossed six innings of one-hit ball to lead the Bulldogs to a nonconference win.

Chance Eoff went 2-for-3, drove in two runs and also scored two to lead Greenwood, which scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.

Jurecka allowed a run on one hit, while striking out seven and walking two.

Rogers High 16, Searcy 2 (5 innings)

Emma Kate Jackson went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple and drove in two runs to lead the Lady Mounties to the easy nonconference win.

Jordan Jeffery, Cassie Gonzalez and Courtney Storey added two hits each. Jeffery drove in three runs, while Gonzalez drove two and scored two. Storey drove in a run and also scored one.

Madison Heinle picked up the win in the circle, pitching three no-hit, no-run innings. She struck out nine and didn't walk a batter. But she did hit one batter.

Greenwood 9, Fayetteville 1

The Bulldogs broke out the bats and bashed seven extra-base hits in a rout of Fayetteville on Wednesday.

Angela Price was 3-for-3 with three doubles and a stolen base to spark the Greenwood offense. Mariah Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Rheding Wagoner added a double and two RBIs.

Shalin Charles was 2-for-4 for Fayetteville, and Emily Melee was 2-for-3 with a double.

Boys

Alma 3, Vilonia 0

Alma's first 5A-West Conference match in school history was a successful one as the Airedales blanked Vilonia.

Ashton Outlaw and Yoonsung Lee provided goals to give Alma (2-1, 1-0) a 2-0 halftime lead, while Brandon Combs closed out the scoring early in the second half. Grayson Bailey had six saves to provide the shutout.

Girls

Rogers Heritage 2, Fort Smith Southside 0

Pam Seiler scored two first-half goals to lead the Lady War Eagles to a nonconference win.

Ruth Duran and Kenadi Coones added an assist apiece for Heritage (4-2).

Vilonia 3, Alma 0

Alma opened 5A-West Conference play by being shut out against Vilonia.

Ava Wilkinson had 12 saves for the Lady Airedales (1-2, 0-1).
