One killed, one injured in Springdale shooting

Police are investigating after one person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Springdale early Saturday.

Officers were flagged down at a Kum & Go, 1260 E. Robinson Ave., just after 3 a.m. and were told there was a shooting at the neighboring McDonald’s, according to a news release by the Springdale Police Department.

Police found two males with gunshot wounds in the restaurant’s parking lot. One male was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to witnesses, at least one suspect left the scene in a white car, police said. Witnesses told police they believed multiple people were in the fleeing vehicle, according to authorities.

Franklin Soto-Ramos of Lowell was arrest in connection with the homicide just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, according to a press release from the Springdale Police Department.

Carlos Alexander Ascencio was named as the person killed in the shooting and Juan Carlos Bahena-Garcia was identified as the critically injured victim, the release added.
