Lee leads Naturals to 9-4 win over RoughRiders

FRISCO, Texas — Khalil Lee had two hits and scored two runs as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals defeated the Frisco RoughRiders 9-4 on Saturday.

Down 5-0 in the sixth, Frisco cut into the lead when Josh Altmann hit a sacrifice fly and Charles Leblanc and Juremi Profar scored on an error.

After Frisco added a run in the seventh on a double by Profar, the Naturals extended their lead with four runs in the eighth inning, including a two-run double by Taylor Featherston.

NW Arkansas starter Ofreidy Gomez (4-4) picked up the win despite allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Tyler Phillips (0-5) took the loss in the Texas League game after allowing five runs and eight hits over six innings.

Christian Lopes doubled twice, scoring two runs for the RoughRiders. Profar doubled and singled, scoring a run and also driving one home.

MIDLAND 6, ARKANSAS 3

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Greg Deichmann hit a run-scoring double in the second inning, leading the Midland RockHounds to a win over the Arkansas Travelers.

The double by Deichmann started the scoring in a three-run inning and gave the RockHounds a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Kevin Merrell hit a sacrifice fly and Brallan Perez hit an RBI single.

The RockHounds later tacked on three runs in the seventh when Mikey White hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run single by Dairon Blanco to secure the victory.

Midland right-hander James Naile (5-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. Opposing starter Andrew Moore (1-1) took the loss in the Texas League game after allowing three runs and six hits over five innings.

For the Travelers, Aaron Knapp singled twice, also stealing a base.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Brian O’Keefe hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Springfield Cardinals beat the Corpus Christi Hooks.

Corpus Christi cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third after Ronnie Dawson hit a solo home run.

The Cardinals extended their lead in the fourth inning when Rayder Ascanio hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Jose Martinez.

The Cardinals extended their lead in the seventh when O’Keefe hit a two-run home run.

Springfield right-hander Tommy Parsons (1-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Brett Ad-cock (1-7) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed four runs and five hits over 3 2/3 innings.

Dawson homered and doubled, driving in two runs for the Hooks. Carlos Canelon homered and singled.
