The Northwest Arkansas chapter of a nonprofit organization for veterans will hold a floating event at Lake Fayetteville in August.

Heroes on the Water will host a breakfast starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 10, before the event starts around 9 a.m., according to a news release. Volunteers will serve lunch at the event around noon.

Heroes on the Water is an organization which uses outdoor events and activities like kayak fishing to help veterans and their families relax and reintegrate into society.

The events are free for veterans and volunteer-led, according to the nonprofit's website.
