Fayetteville leader could use
lesson in world of statistics
Recently (July 13), the Voices section of this newspaper contained an article entitled "Numbers mislead" that was written by David Kelley. The article contained very meaningful information about surveys and should be required reading for all our government officials.
More knowledge about statistics derived from surveys data, and the inherent limitations of those numbers, would have been particularly useful to members of the Fayetteville City Council when they were making decisions about bicycle lanes and also when considering the update to the City 2040 Plan that dealt with the "infill" issue.
