POLICE: Fayetteville man arrested after armed robbery

FAYETTEVILLE -- A suspect in a May robbery was arrested Monday.

Davonta Brown, 22, of 4168 N. Valley Lake Drive, No. 9, was in the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday in connection with aggravated robbery, according to information from the Washington County Sheriff's Office. He was being held on a $25,000 bond.

Fayetteville police were called May 6 to 4168 N. Valley Lake Drive where John Williams and Julianna Valle told police Brown robbed them at gunpoint, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant. Williams said he had been living with Brown, who accused him of stealing Xanax, according to the affidavit. Williams said Brown took $300 from him at gunpoint while they were in the apartment.

Williams told police he went outside to his vehicle where Valle was waiting, and Brown came to the vehicle with the handgun and demanded Valle give him her purse, which had $1,500. Valle recorded part of the incident on her phone.

Brown was arrested in Springdale on a warrant for failure to appear in another case, and police learned he was a suspect in the May robbery.
