The Doubletree Hotel in Little Rock was packed June 29 with classmates from Dunbar Junior and Senior High School and Horace Mann High School who came together from all over the country for a multi-year reunion.
The Dunbar Horace Mann Alumni Association hosted the four-day Reunion of the Classes that culminated with the June 29 reunion. The association is made up of graduates of Little Rock's two former, all-black high schools in the days before school desegregation. Dunbar and Horace Mann had separate alumni associations, but those merged in July 2009. Both schools still exist, but as magnet middle schools.
Lottie Shackelford served as the mistress of ceremonies. The evening included dinner, awards and presentations, and dancing to the band Integrity.
