Where I live: in Little Rock's midtown neighborhood with my wife, Cindy, a retired RN.
Occupation: Retired from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as department administrator for surgery, College of Medicine.
My favorite space: Our screened porch. We have lived in our house for 18 years and although it had a screened in porch when we moved in, it was in dire need of repairs. We had the porch completely rebuilt about three years ago and we love it.
Why? I can listen to the different birds that come by and also take naps on my swing/daybed.
Our porch looks onto a green belt, which gives us the feeling of being in the country. That's quite a luxury living in the heart of the city, but feeling you are living in the country. There is only one entrance into Wingate, so we have very little traffic, so I can get out and walk whenever I want.
Every day we will see rabbits, birds, squirrels, and turtles, which my wife promptly marks so we can tell if they are back for a return visit. Without a doubt we have the best neighbors in the world and are certainly blessed.
If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: do nothing. It's pretty much perfect.
