WHAT: Quaker Morning Go-Kit

STATS: The cranberry kits, for example, contain 400 calories and 15 fat, 53 carbohydrate, 6 fiber, 31 sugar and 16 protein grams. We bought them at Kroger, 8415 W. Markham St., Little Rock. More information at quakeroats.com.

THE SKINNY: Should you go for Quaker Morning Go-Kits?

If you like a lot of carbohydrates, sugar and plastic packaging, sure, go for it. Each convenience kit features an individual container of Greek yogurt, a baggie of dried fruit and nuts, as well as three thin, flavored oat bars and a plastic spoon. There are three varieties:

■ Quaker Cranberry Almond Breakfast Flats; Strawberry Greek Yogurt; Berry Almond Trail Mix

■ Quaker Banana Honey Nut Breakfast Flats; Vanilla Greek Yogurt; Raisin Nut & Seed Trail Mix

■ Quaker Blueberry Nut Breakfast Flats; Blueberry Greek Yogurt; Walnut Peach Apple Trail Mix.

While the kits are appetizing enough and high in protein, they're also pretty high in calories (400-420) while being fairly light on food.

These Morning Go-Kits are just not the kind of thing that keeps us going.
