"Artosphere spotlights artists and performers from around the world who are inspired by nature, and provides a creative framework for the community to discuss issues of sustainability and environmental awareness." This year's festival will be June 10-29 in various venues in Northwest Arkansas.

The festival orchestra's 10x10 Concert will be June 26 and Finale Concert June 29, both at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville.

Among those assembled in support of Artosphere were Martiand Kelly Sudduth, Anne O'Leary Kelly, Evelyn and Dennis Shaw, Diane and Bob Shaw, Marybeth and Rick Hays, Susan and Orville Hall, Margaret and Dick Rutherford, Carol and Ed Clifford, Micky and Marybeth Mayfield and Ann Marie Ziegler.

Dick Trammel was joined by scores of friends Jan. 14 at Arvest Bank in Rogers to mark his retirement from the bank after more than 43 years of service.

Appropriately, the University of Arkansas Razorback cheerleaders kicked off the festivities with a Hog Call at the reception in honor of Trammel, a former UA cheerleader.

Ever a cheerleader for countless area nonprofit organizations, Trammel has helped groups raise millions to fulfill their missions and was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals last year.

Sam Walton, Walmart founder, hired Trammel to "liven this place up ... Dad wanted someone to make this a better place to live, and you've done it like no one else could," Jim Walton of the Arvest Bank Group Inc. told Trammel and the crowd gathered.

Those paying tribute to Trammel included Robb Brothers, Bert Kell, Craig Rivaldo, Karen Parker, Valorie and Randy Lawson, Eric Pianalto, Tabi Lipscomb, Robyn Breshears, Richard Hudson, Gilda Underwood, Bootsie Ackerman, Ken Hatfield and Sandy and Joe Steinmentz.
