Arkansas Stop the Violence will hold a celebration and remembrance on the eve of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The event will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in Temple of Restoration Church of God in Christ at 10610 Chicot Road in Mabelvale.
Speakers include pastor Kevin Cunningham of Sand Hill Bailey Bible Church. Host pastor Robert Robinson will also make remarks.

The Arkansas Stop the Violence organization describes its mission and goal as helping to make young people understand the importance of education, independent thinking and accomplishment. The organization also tries to help young people understand the importance of valuing not only their lives but the lives of others, and to take a stance against violence.
The Arkansas Stop the Violence leadership also raises awareness about how police and political leaders address violent crime, particularly shootings, in inner-city neighborhoods.
