Where I live: Quapaw Quarter's mansion area. My husband and I live in the main house, historically known as The Kirkwood Cottage, circa 1882, but we also have a two-story carriage house that we rent out. I've lived here since 1983. We have a beautiful brick courtyard which separates the two houses.

I love the neighborhood; it's beautiful and eclectic and has a small-town feel but is close to everything.

Occupation: Self-employed Microsoft Access database consultant

My favorite space is: My kitchen -- it's large and filled with light. I tried to keep the rest of the house neutral, but my kitchen is filled with fun signs, stained glass and beautiful quartz counter tops. It is a gathering spot when we have company and is a fun place to entertain in with lots of countertop space, which is great for family potlucks.

Why? Besides being a reflection of my personality, it is functional and the new appliances just enhance the whole space. My husband added crown molding to the cabinets as well as a built-in refrigerator, also with crown and decorative molding. The pantry is also built into the space and is very convenient.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Do nothing -- it is perfect the way it is!
