Those in various aspects and stages of the legal profession in central Arkansas gathered for the annual holiday dinner for the American Inns of Court on Dec. 11 in Salon A, William Grant Still Ballroom, at the Robinson Center. The event -- which moved from its previous venue, the Arkansas Governor's Mansion -- is a collaborative celebration among lawyers and judges from the Judge William Overton Inn of Court and the Judge Henry Woods Inn of Court.

Guests mingled and partook of a sumptuous buffet. Benjamin Brenner, one of the past presidents of the Henry Woods Inn of Court and known by the stage name of Swamp Donkey, provided bluesy entertainment.

According to its website, the American Inns of Court is "one of the very few legal organizations that involve the whole spectrum of the profession: from law students to supreme court justices; every level of federal and state judges, small firms to large firms; legal educators to law students." The goals of the Inns of Court are "to increase civility, collegiality, professionalism, ethics, and advocacy skills within the legal profession" through education and mentoring.
