Blood Center

needs donors

Winter weather and illness have combined to cause blood donation levels in the Ozarks to drop substantially over the past several weeks. As a result, most blood types are in very short supply. Nearly 300 potential donations have been lost due to canceled blood drives, while other scheduled drives have come in well under projected donation levels. To avoid a critical blood shortage, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is strongly urging donors to give this week at a drive or donor center near them.

You can help by giving blood at these upcoming blood drives:

•Gentry: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 18, Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 10770 N. Bloomfield Road

•Berryville: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 20, Mercy Hospital Berryville, 214 Carter St.

•Fayetteville: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 20, City of Fayetteville, 15 W. Mountain St.; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 26, Washington County Sheriff's Office, 1155 Clydesdale Drive
