Fayetteville makes fertilizer available in bulk

FAYETTEVILLE -- The city is offering fertilizer for bulk purchase.

The organically based fertilizer is a class A exceptional quality biosolid, as defined by federal regulations, according to a city surplus and auction notice.

The commitment date for fertilizer purchases is 8:30 a.m. March 1. Commitments will only be taken via phone at 444-0717.

The prices are set for March 1 to Aug. 31 as follows:

• Small bulk (¼ ton to 1 ton) -- $80 per ton (minimum purchase of $20, regardless of purchase amount).

• Medium bulk (greater than 1 ton to 20 tons) -- $50 per ton.

• Large bulk (greater than 20 tons to 100 tons) -- $20 per ton.
