Emily Catherine Lanier - Troy Thomas Stewart

St. James United Methodist Church was the setting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, for the marriage of Emily Catherine Lanier and Troy Thomas Stewart, who goes by Teddy. The Rev. Carness Vaughan officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Cathy and Rusty Lanier of Little Rock and the granddaughter of Edie and Stan Langley of Bella Vista, the late Gwyn and Tom Conner of Marianna and the late Dr. Paul Robinson Lanier of Tulsa.

Ella and Stan Stewart of Temecula, Calif., are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Christine and the late Milo Arroyo of Ontario, Calif, and Ley and the late Russell Coziar of Ventura, Calif.

The chancel held a large garden-style arrangement of white garden roses, quicksand roses, green parrot tulips and lisianthus. Ceremony music was by organist Robert Lindley and soloist Sarah Briery.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a strapless white Martina Liana ballgown with a ruched silk-chiffon sweetheart bodice and full silk skirt. She carried a cascade of soft white and pale blush parrot tulips, anemones and roses with silver dollar eucalyptus and lemon leaf.

Laura Lanier of Little Rock was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Allie Anderson of Austin, Texas; Megan Crosby of Denver; Landyn Dooley of Troutman, N.C.; Annie Estes and Lizzy McSpadden, both of Little Rock; Chelsea Humkey of San Diego; Kaitlin Kane and Alex Sullivan, both of Dallas; Deegan Mundy of Durham, N.C.; Savannah Nall of Jonesboro; and Sarah Naylor, Megan O'Hanlon and Elyse Benjamin, all of Atlanta. They wore navy gowns and carried bouquets of all white hydrangea with a collar of mixed foliage.

Flower girls were Scarlett Sanders of Washington and Jarrett Turner of Little Rock. Ring bearers were Reid Frizzell of Little Rock, Finn Humphrey of Birmingham, Ala., and George Sanders and Huck Sanders of Washington.

Best man was Kiel Brander of Yorktown, Va. Serving as groomsmen were Matt Adamo, Aaron Gunther, Marc Herrmann and Greg Merrill, all of Los Angeles; Justin Carter and Rob Humkey, both of San Diego; John Harper of Little Rock; Tripp Holder of Winston Salem, N.C.; Austin Maranville of Orange County, Calif.; Joe Naylor of Atlanta; Anish Pal of San Francisco; and Russ Roberson of Douglas, Ga.

Guests were seated by Hunter Langley and Tyler Langley, both of Russellville, and Chase Bellisime of Salt Lake City.

After the ceremony, there was a reception at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. Tables covered in deep midnight-colored linens held white and blush arrangements of parrot tulips, roses, anemones and lisianthus in glass containers. Music was by Funky Town.

The bride graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in English and from the University of Alabama with a master's degree in marketing. She is a national sales representative and marketing coordinator for The Strong Company Inc., Pine Bluff.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of California at San Diego and a law degree from the University of Georgia Law School. He is an assistant attorney general.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a honeymoon in White House, Jamaica.
