Interstate ramps in Bentonville closed until May

BENTONVILLE -- Improvement to Exit 86 on Interstate 49 in Bentonville require ramp closings for about three months.

Crews will close the I-49 northbound on-ramp and the I-49 southbound exit ramp at the U.S. 62/Arkansas 102 interchange beginning Friday, after 9 p.m., weather permitting, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

The ramp closings will enable crews to complete work on the interchange. The ramps are estimated to remain closed until late May.

Traffic will be controlled with signs and traffic barrels. Detours will be clearly marked. Through traffic on Southeast 14th Street in Bentonville and Hudson Road Rogers will not be affected.

• Motorists west of Bentonville's J Street who need access to I-49 north should travel north on J Street to Arkansas 72 and Exit 88.

• Motorists east of J Street and west of Dixieland Road in Rogers who need access to I-49 north should take I-49 south at Exit 86 then travel to Exit 85 and return north on I-49.

• Motorists traveling south on I-49 who need access to areas in the vicinity of Exit 86 should travel to Exit 85 and return north on I-49.

• Motorists east of Rogers' Dixieland Road who need to access I-49 north should travel south on Dixieland Road to Walnut Street and continue west to I-49 at Exit 85.
