Traffic to shift for U.S. 412 widening

Work to widen a 14.5-mile section of U.S. 412 in Greene and Lawrence counties will require shifting traffic to new pavement sections beginning Friday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on U.S. 412 will be shifted to the new pavement sections to detour around areas with bridge removal and replacement construction starting at 9 a.m. and lasting until next summer in two locations:

• About 1.3 miles east U.S. 167 in Lawrence County.

• A mile east of the town of Light in Greene County.

The detour areas will have restricted shoulder widths.
