Seventh flu death reported in state

Another person has died from the flu in Arkansas, bringing the death toll from the current flu season to seven, the state Department of Health reported Wednesday.

The latest death was of a person age 25-44, the first in that age group this season.

The others who have died this flu season include three people age 45-64 and three who were 65 or older.

The flu season generally runs from October through May.

At this time last year, four flu-related deaths had been reported in Arkansas. During the entire season, 120 people in the state died of the flu.
