Democrats

The Democratic Party of Benton County will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at Mimi's Cafe, 2105 S.Promenade Blvd. in Rogers. The business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

Computers

The Bella Vista Computer Club will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 in Room 1001 on the lower level of the Highlands Crossing Center, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista. The program will be "iPad 2019," presented by Woody Ogden. It will cover the features on the newer iPads. Different handouts giving general information and computer tips are available at each monthly meeting.

The next scheduled class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 17 on the topic "Computer Security for Regular People: Part 1," presented by Justin Sell, owner of Bella Vista Computer Services.

Open house help clinic sessions are held from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday and the third Wednesday of each month in the club's training center, Suite 208, and are a free service for club members.

NARFE

Bella Vista Chapter 1547, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 13 in the Community Room of Guaranty Bank, 21196 U.S. 71 South in Pineville, Mo.

This will be the annual Christmas party with entertainment presented by Perfect Harmony, a women's barbershop chorus. All current and retired federal employees and their spouses are welcome.

Handweavers

The Northwest Arkansas Handweavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Shiloh Meeting Hall, 121 W. Huntsville Ave. in downtown Springdale.

SAR

DAR

The Marion Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at Mermaids Restaurant, 2217 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. Feel free to wear Christmas season apparel.

The focus of the meeting will be "DAR Shines a Light on Consumer Fraud/Identity Theft." The guest speaker will be John Pascoe from Arvest Bank, who will discuss things to watch out for and ways to protect yourself and your financial identity.

Bring blank Christmas cards and/or postage for hospitalized vets or those confined to the VA home so they will be able to send cards to their loved ones.

Hill Hikers

The Ozark Hill Hikers, a chapter of America's Walking Club, invite all interested walkers to join in for a 5K walk that follows part of the Frisco Trail and passes through the Lights of the Ozarks display around the Fayetteville square, Dickson Street and Mount Nord Historic District.

Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Walgreens at 524 S. School Ave., and the walk will start from there at 5 p.m.

Artists

Members of the Bella Vista Decorative Artists will celebrate Christmas at 9 a.m. Dec. 14 at Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Drive in Bella Vista. All members are asked to bring a toy to be donated to the Legal Aid of Arkansas in Springdale that serves four counties.

The purpose of the chapter is to stimulate interest and appreciation for the art of painting. BVDA also does a variety of service projects. Each month the BVDA has a member or visiting national artist teach an art project. Painters of all skill levels make up the BVDA chapter, and visitors are welcome.

Nebraska Club

The Nebraska Club of Bella Vista and Northwest Arkansas will hold its annual Christmas dinner party Dec. 14 at the Bella Vista Bar and Grill (formerly the Bella Vista Country Club). The event will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. with dinner being served at 6 p.m.

LifeWriters

LifeWriters, a group for people interested in writing the stories of their own lives or those of family and friends, will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave. in downtown Springdale.

Military

The Northwest Arkansas Chapter, Military Officers Association of America, will hold its annual Christmas dinner for officers and warrant officers (active duty, national guard, reserve, former and retired) of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at Mermaids Restaurant in Fayetteville. Social hour begins at 6:30 p.m. All commissioned officers and spouses of the armed forces, both active and former, are invited to attend regardless of membership status.

Dinner is $25 per person. The menu is the manager's special buffet. Coat and tie, military uniform, or "after 5 attire" is encouraged.

Entertainment for the dinner is by the award-winning Har-Ber High School Choir, which will sing a selection of Christmas songs.
