BENTONVILLE — Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green announced she’ll seek re-election.

Green presides over Division 1 for the 19th Judicial District West. She hears half of the felony criminal cases along with a portion of the civil cases.

She was elected circuit judge in 2008 and re-elected in 2014.

“I believe public service is a noble calling,” Green said. “I truly care about the litigants and the victims who appear in my court, and I strive to see that justice is done. I enjoy working to make a positive difference in our great community.”

Green, 50, has served as a special justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court. She fulfilled multiple appointments by the Arkansas Supreme Court to the Arkansas Criminal Rules Committee and the Access to Justice Commission. She has also served on the board of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.

She was the first woman to serve as the prosecutor for Benton County when Gov. Mike Huckabee appointed her in 2000 to serve the remainder of Brad Butler’s term. Huckabee appointed her again in 2004 to lead the prosecutor’s office after Bob Balfe became the U.S. attorney for the western district of Arkansas.

Green has served as the administrative judge for the district.

She is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and the Arkansas Judicial Council and served as president of the Benton County Bar Association.

Green worked as a civil attorney and is admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the eastern and western districts of Arkansas.

Green, of Rogers, has served as a certified law enforcement instructor and as an instructor at John Brown University. She also served on the board of advisers of the Northwest Arkansas Community College Paralegal Program.

She received her bachelor of arts degree in economics and business from Hendrix College, and her law degree from the University of Arkansas’ School of Law.

Elections in Arkansas for circuit judges are nonpartisan. The 2020 election will be March 3. Runoffs will be on the general election ballot in November.

Circuit judges serve six-year terms and are paid $168,096 a year.
