Mark Taylor

Where I live: West Little Rock

Occupation: Speaker, consultant and president of Taylor Programs. I work with colleges and universities on understanding students and improving teaching, and with businesses on managing in the multi-generational workplace.

My favorite space is: My table tennis robot room.

Why? Table tennis is a great sport and is not well understood by people who have only played pingpong. It is fast, athletic, technical and strategic. The health benefits are almost unlimited, from balance, agility, fitness and coordination to improved brain health. And I can play it alone anytime in my basement.

Central Arkansas has a great table tennis community with the Little Rock Table Tennis Club and a new training academy just over the Arkansas River.

My robot is a Bluetooth-programmable Newgy Robo-Pong 3050XL. It lets me exercise, practice drills and zone into hitting the ball for exercise and relaxation, and so I am ready for competitive play.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: After two years of tweaks to netting, flooring, lights, sound and equipment, I have it pretty dialed in.
