Boys & Girls Club of Benton County supporters will sip, savor, then select their favorite samplings from those served at the fifth annual Sip & Savor benefit Aug. 22 at Record in Bentonville.
Proceeds will help support the Benton County group's scholarship program, said Stefanie Jackson, director of development. The nonprofit organization operates four campuses and serves children in five school districts offering affordable after-school, summer and athletic programs.

The group's mission is to enable "all young people -- especially those who need us most -- to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens." More than 3,800 children are members and some 700 are served daily.
Offerings focus on three core areas: "character and citizenship -- club members will be engaged citizens involved in the community and model strong character; academic success -- club members will graduate from high school on time with a plan for the future; and healthy lifestyles -- club members will adopt healthy diets, practice healthy lifestyle choices and make a lifelong commitment to fitness."
The benefit will feature tastes from area restaurants and caterers, a signature cocktail, live music and silent auction.
Honorary co-chairmen for the event are Andrea Albright, Walmart vice president of snacks, beverage and impulse and Clint Gill, Sam's Club dry grocery and beverage senior vice president and general merchandise manager
