First Saturday Lime

What's to love: A natural product made in the United States with a variety of uses around the home.

What does it do: First Saturday Lime is a purified, refined calcium carbonate made without additives so it is safe to use around humans and animals. It can be used around the outside of buildings or in yards to repel insects, change the PH of soil to increase nitrogen efficiency, use to deoderize chicken coops and other places animals are kept and prevent algae growth in ponds. Lime can also be used to change the color of hydrangeas from blue to pink when added to the soil. First Saturday Lime is available in 5 pound ($9.99) or 20 pound ($19.99) bags. Peachster

What's to Love: Arkansas peach season is in a few months and this pitting tool will help when ready to make peach cobbler, peach ice cream or peach jam.

What does it do: When holding a peach, push the Peachster through the top of the peach until it wedges around the pit. Twist the pitter in one direction and the peach in the other to separate the peach in half, then rotate back to remove the pit. The pitter also works on other stone fruit and is dishwasher safe. It sells for $7.99. Visit Chefn.com for more information.
