The groundbreaking kicked off a $10 million renovation and addition to the award-winning English Tudor Revival home, the only one of its kind on the UA campus. The house will maintain its Tudor style but include more study spaces, more capacity for dining and chapter meetings, and updates for safety, security, technology and ADA accessibility. Alpha Delta Pi is working with University of Arkansas Facilities Management, WER Architects/Planners and Kinco Constructors on the project. The refurbished 26,500-square-foot home will open in the fall of 2020.

Keep Arkansas Beautiful

The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission was recognized with honors at the recent 2019 Keep America Beautiful National Conference in Baltimore, Md.

Remaining in good standing as a certified state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and for successful completion of all reporting requirements, KAB was among a group 25 certified state affiliates to earn a President's Circle Award.

Additionally, seven Keep America Beautiful certified community affiliates in Arkansas were also honored nationally: Keep Fayetteville Beautiful, Keep Fort Smith Beautiful, Keep Little Rock Beautiful, Keep North Little Rock Beautiful, Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean & Beautiful, Keep Sherwood Beautiful and Keep Van Buren Beautiful.

"One of our nation's most effective grassroots community resources is our local affiliates, which engage millions of Americans in volunteer service each year," said Keep America Beautiful President and CEO Helen Lowman in a news release. "Our affiliates provide real solutions that help create communities that are socially connected, environmentally health and economically sound. They enrich the communities they serve and help create opportunities for Americans to do beautiful things."

President's Circle recognition is the highest honor given to affiliates that annually meet or exceed a set of specific requirements, including conducting an annual Community Appearance Index, calculating the affiliate's cost/benefit ratio, and administering initiatives to end littering, improve recycling and beautify their communities. President's Circle affiliates receive a certificate for the achievement and are recognized at the national conference attended by peers from around the country.
