Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas welcomed supporters to the Pathways to Prosperity Endowed Scholarship Brunch on March 30 at the Fayetteville Country Club.
The group awarded 45 endowed scholarships to exemplary students. The gathering is an opportunity for donors and recipients to get to meet.

The fund serves single parents in Carroll, Madison and Washington counties. Along with money for school, the group helps recipients with living expenses and provides a mentoring program and other supports for recipients and their families through graduation.
Heather Schneider, seven-time scholarship recipient and traumatic brain injury survivor, was the featured speaker and shared with guests her path to becoming a soon-to-be-graduate of the University of Arkansas. "Attending school has taught me the confidence I need to succeed ... Every person that I have reached out to in this organization has helped me tremendously and has seen how I've grown over the years."
Those helping pave a pathway for single parents included Evelyn and Dennis Shaw, Hannah and Greg Lee, Leslie and Ted Belden, Frank Johnson, Cathy and Jim Crouch, Natalie and Colt Bartholomew, Jennifer and Jason Miller and Stan Rodgers.
Ozark Guidance backers gathered for a private preview and a chance to shop the Walk a Mile benefit sale of new and gently used shoes and handbags on April 5, the eve of the sale for the general public at the Holiday Inn in Springdale.
The nonprofit provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults and families. These are evidenced-based services and include evaluations, counseling, therapy and medication management, therapeutic day treatment, assertive community treatment, school-based services, therapeutic foster care and multiple educational groups with focuses such as anger management and DUI.
Those perusing shoes and accessories to benefit mental health services include Jerri and John Skaggs, Kevin Hatfield, Jackie and Sumner Brashears, Kim Tisdale and Deb Euculano.
