THURSDAY’S GAMES

ELKINS 9, PROVIDENCE ACADEMY 8

Carson Perrenoud’s RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh snapped an 8-8 tie and gave the Elks the nonconference win. Elkins (11-2) rallied from an early deficit thanks to a seven-run fourth inning to take an 8-5 lead. But Providence Academy scored a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to tie the game. Bryce Parrish, who reached on an error in the seventh and scored the game-winning run, had two hits, drove in two runs and scored three times for the Elks. Alex Smith also added two hits. Koby Keen had two hits, drove in three and scored two runs for Providence Academy. Dan Taylor and Luke Medlin added two hits each.

VAN BUREN 8, FORT SMITH NORTHSIDE 3

The Pointers scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back to claim the nonconference win. Trevor Johnson went 3-for-3, drove in a run and scored twice for Van Buren, while Jackson Hurst hit a home run and drove in three runs. Landrey Wilkerson picked up the complete-game victory. He struck out 10 and walked one. Bobby Rauch went 2-for-3, drove in a run and scored a run for Northside, but also took the loss. He allowed five runs on just three hits over three innings. Rauch walked five and struck out one.

SHILOH CHRISTIAN 14, PEA RIDGE 0

Walker Williams tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Saints to the easy win. Williams walked three over six innings of work and got plenty of offensive support as the Saints pounded out 17 hits. Sawyer Duddleston went 4-for-4, drove in a run and scored three times, while Cole Oswald added three hits and two RBIs.

PRAIRIE GROVE 6, HUNTSVILLE 0

Drew Cates tossed a four-hitter and struck out 11 to lead the Tigers to the win. Kyle Fiedler went 2-for-4, scored a run and drove in one, while Sloan Smith added two hits for Prairie Grove.

DANVILLE 6, LAVACA 2

A four-run sixth inning gave Danville the cushion it needed to defeat host Lavaca. Jimmy Hall had three of the Golden Arrows’ five hits. Lavaca (7-3) did all of its scoring in the seventh as Dyland Ellison and Colby Clunn each reached base, while Tyler Hobbs and Jayger Wagner picked up an RBI apiece.

GRAVETTE 14, MIAMI, OKLA. 7

Brodie Parsons had three hits, including a two-run home run, to lead Gravette to a non-conference win at Miami. Hunter Cole also had three hits and a game-high four RBIs for the Lions (11-10-1), who led 7-4 after five innings before they erupted for seven runs in the sixth. Dallas Wallace and Thomas Tryon each drove in two runs for Gravette, while Parson hit his home run in the second.

THURSDAY’S GAMES

VALLEY SPRINGS 14-18, GREEN FOREST 0-2

Maura Moore threw a two-hitter over six innings and helped her cause with four hits, including a home run, as Valley Springs rolled past Green Forest in the first game of a 3A-1 East Conference doubleheader. Moore hit an RBI double to start a four-run first, then drove in a run with a single as part of a seven-run second for Valley Springs. She later hit a solo home run in the third. Bailey Bryant added three hits and drove in two runs, while Makenzie Graves had two hits and three RBIs. Moore threw 73 pitches over five innings and struck out nine batters. Valley Springs (9-7) then completed the sweep by scoring 10 runs in the first inning of the second game. Shelby Jones drove four runs, while Bethany Richardson added two hits and drove in three runs and Graves added two hits and two RBIs.

BERRYVILLE 13, GENTRY 9

A six-run sixth inning allowed Berryville to build a 10-0 lead, then the Lady Bobcats held off Gentry for the 4A-1 Conference victory. Hayley Rivett had three hits, including a two-run home run in the second, and drove in three runs for Berryville, while Lexi Woods and Fiath Kelley had two hits each. Gentry made it a closer game with five in the sixth and four in the seventh as Kyleigh Wheaton, Cariss Goessens and Reagan Jude drove in two runs apiece.

GRAVETTE 18, PEA RIDGE 2

Gabby Scott had three hits and drove in three runs as Gravette scored 10 unanswered runs and blew out Pea Ridge. Cally Kildow had four hits and drove in two runs, while Shylee Morrison had three hits and drove in two runs. Bailey Elmore added three hits and scored twice as the Lady Lions (10-5) banged out 20 hits and scored eight runs in the seventh. Elmore also scattered five hits over six innings and struck out seven batters, while Kildow pitched the seventh and struck out two.

PARIS 7, LAMAR 1

Sydney Ward threw a no-hitter and struck out 12 batters, then hit a home run to lead Paris past Lamar in 3A-4 Conference action. Ward needed only 79 pitches to complete the game, as Lamar scored its run in the fourth with a walk and a three-base error. Olivia Henderson’s two-run single snapped the 1-1 tie and sparked a four-run fifth for Paris (14-5). Ward then led off the seventh with her home run. Ward and Henderson each had two hits and two RBIs.

DOVER 6, CHARLESTON 1

Dover broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the sixth inning, and the Lady Pirates defeated Charleston in nonconference action. The Lady Tigers (11-4) scored their run in the fourth as Emma McKinney and came home on Jocelyn Robison’s. Dover tied the game with a run in the fifth before its big sixth-inning outburst. McKinney and Robison finished with two hits apiece for Charleston, which travels to Waldron today for a 3A-1 West Conference game.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

PEA RIDGE 12, FAYETTEVILLE 3

Blakelee Winn had four hits, including a home run, and scored four times to lead Pea Ridge to a road nonconference win over Fayetteville. Wynn led off the game with her home run, while Hailey Laster hit a two-run home run in the third and snapped a 1-1 tie. Haylee Fox gave the Lady Blackhawks their third home run with her two-run shot as part of a five-run seventh. Holly Davis had three of Pea Ridge’s 18 hits and drove in two runs while Laster had two hits and drove in three runs. Fox added two hits and two RBIs. Sadie Baxter and Emily Megee each had two hits and an RBI for Fayetteville.

GIRLS

HARRISON 1, OZARK, MO. 1

Harrison had to settle for a tie during its second match of the Springfield (Mo.) Kickapoo Tourament. Brylie Parker gave the Lady Goblins (12-3-1) their goal on a free kick from 30 yards out with 29 minutes remaining, but Ozark tied it with 12 minutes left to play. Makayla Campbell recorded 14 saves for Harrison, which plays Huntsville today in a 4A-West Conference match before returning to Kickapoo for a Saturday tournament match against Sedalia (Mo.) Smith-Cotton.
