Hundreds of volunteers will unite April 26 to Live United with the United Way of Northwest Arkansas. It's the largest day of action in Northwest Arkansas, spread out among several organizations, according to Christina Hinds, resource development vice president.
Some 430 volunteers representing 23 area businesses and other groups will serve 22 sites that include Boys and Girls Clubs of Siloam Springs, Benton County and Donald W. Reynolds in Fayetteville; Apple Seeds in Fayetteville; Sunshine School and Development Center in Rogers; Girl Scouts: Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas; and Family Network in Springdale.

Hinds said: "It's an opportunity for our companies' employees to give time back to our community." The estimated dollar value of the volunteer hours to the area is more than $34,000.
Hinds said the majority of the projects are exterior spring cleanup with some interior painting and refreshing.
