Evening adds up to success for Silver Gala at ASMSA

HOT SPRINGS -- The 25th anniversary of the only residential public school in the state -- Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts -- was celebrated with a Silver Gala on March 27. The festivities were held at the school's new Creativity and Innovation Complex.

The evening began with a VIP reception hosted by the Fredinburg family, who have made contributions to ASMSA in memory of Dan Fredinburg, who was a student at the school.

Guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers while listening to music from student violinist A.J. Navarro, a junior at the school. Those attending the reception were donors, members of the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees and student ambassadors.

About 150 people attending the gala were welcomed by Corey Alderdice, director of the school. The evening included a performance by the ASMSA Band and remarks by alumnus Amy Stvartak, student ambassador Mary Jia, members of the Fredinburg family and former Hot Springs Mayor Melinda Baran.
