ARKANSAS vs. VANDERBILT: HOW WE SEE IT

Ty Storey should return to give the Hogs a little more consistency on offense, but the key is for another good week of tackling on defense and the coverage at cornerback to tighten. There were some coverage sacks against Tulsa, maybe the most welcome development in the shutout. The Hogs playing in Fayetteville for the second straight week — a first in 2018 — will be the difference. Consistency and stability are important in a rebuilding project. Arkansas, 26-20

Neither offense in this game is going to scare anybody, but I do think that Arkansas with its combination of Ty Storey, Rakeem Boyd and CJ O’Grady outweighs Vanderbilt signal caller Kyle Schurmur and wideout Kalija Lipscomb. I’ll also give Arkansas’ defense the edge in this one and expect the Razorbacks to keep the Commodores winless at SEC West stadiums since 2012. Arkansas, 24-10

MATT JONES, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

Something has to give between two of the least-productive offenses and defenses in the SEC. With both teams eagerly awaiting rest on their Nov. 3 open date, this might come down to the Razorbacks being at home and the Commodores being on the road for the second straight week. Arkansas, 14-10

BO MATTINGLY, SPORTS TALK WITH BO

Statistically, these are very similar teams. Vanderbilt is the least explosive offense Arkansas has faced. As long as Rakeem Boyd is healthy, I like the Hogs to get their first SEC win. Arkansas, 20-17

A third straight game of 3-for-3 on field goals by Connor Limpert could be the difference. Arkansas, 30-28

SCOTTIE BORDELON, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

The Commodores have played three competitive games against top-15 teams this season – at Notre Dame, vs. Florida, at Kentucky. They won’t be intimidated coming to Fayetteville. Vanderbilt, 21-17

TOMMY CRAFT, ESPN ARKANSAS

Both teams are 0-4 in SEC play, but Vanderbilt appears to be playing better football to this point in the season. A healthy Ty Storey is the only chance Arkansas has to get this first SEC win. Vanderbilt, 24-20

BART POHLMAN, SPORTS TALK WITH BO

Tulsa was a much-needed breath of fresh air for the Razorbacks, but jumping back into SEC play won’t be easy. Vandy will make it tough on the Hogs. This one goes down to the wire. Vanderbilt, 24-20

CHIP SOUZA, NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE

Vandy is a solid team and this one will be close the entire way. The return of quarterback Ty Storey will boost the Razorbacks’ offense just enough to help Hogs win their second straight and go into the bye week on a high note. Arkansas 27-24
