Man dies in Garland County mobile home fire

One man is dead after a Tuesday morning mobile home fire in Garland County, according to a news release.

Deputies were alerted about 9 a.m. to the fire, which occurred at a single-wide mobile home at 131 Lovia Circle, in the unincorporated community of Royal, Sgt. John Schroeder of the Garland County sheriff's office said.

Within 10 minutes, authorities had arrived at the fire, the sheriff's office release states. The Piney Fire Department also responded and helped control the blaze.

A man, described as being roughly 70 years old, was found dead inside the home, but authorities are waiting for the state Crime Lab to positively identify him before releasing his name, Schroeder said.

The cause of the fire and the man's cause of death are still under investigation, authorities said.
