Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at an Arkansas prison over the weekend.

The Department of Correction said William Turner was unresponsive when found in his assigned barracks at the Tucker Unit on Sunday morning. Emergency medical treatment was administered to the 46-year-old inmate at the barracks, and Turner was pronounced dead there.

A Department of Correction spokesman said there were 45 inmates in the barracks where Turner was found. The Arkansas State Police is investigating Turner's death, and the Department of Correction will conduct an internal investigation.
