Authorities this week identified a 54-year-old Arkansas man who died after a motorcycle wreck in May.

According to an Arkansas State Police report, James Martin of Alma was on a 2006 Honda motorcycle headed south on Arkansas Street in Van Buren on May 13 when he traveled off the road. The motorcycle then "crashed into the woods," the report states.

He was taken to Sparks Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, police said.

Conditions at the time of the Crawford County wreck were said to be clear and dry.

When asked about why the report was not added to a list of fatal crash summaries until months after the wreck, Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler directed an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reporter to the investigating agency, the Van Buren Police Department.

Detective Jonathan Wear said the report had been sent to state police in May, about a week after the crash and that he didn’t know why it hadn’t been posted until months later.
