The Oxford American magazine's annual fundraiser -- Books, Bourbon & Boogie -- featured folk singer Arlo Guthrie on Nov. 7 at CALS Ron Robinson Theater.
Guthrie -- the son of Woody Guthrie -- is currently on a 50th anniversary celebration tour of Alice's Restaurant.
The event kicked off with a reception in the lobby where guests enjoyed drinks, a buffet and passed Southern-style treats. Guests could also buy tickets for a 50/50 raffle with the prize being half of the money raised from the raffle ticket sales and the other half benefiting the magazine.
The Oxford American, "A Magazine of the South" is published quarterly and the latest issue -- the 20th annual Southern Music issue featuring a CD sampler of North Carolina music -- was also available for sale.
