Event celebrates trails

The city of Bella Vista will host the Fall for All trail appreciation event on Saturday at Blowing Springs Park and the Back 40 trail system.

Events begin at 8 a.m. and include a trail run, guided hikes and mountain bike rides and rides for children. Guided hikes will be at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. led by Northwest Arkansas master naturalists. Food trucks and vendor booths will be on site.

Cleanup set at Lake Wilson

Volunteers are needed Saturday to clean up Lake Wilson in Fayetteville from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The event celebrates America Recycles Day, which is Nov. 15.

Meet at the Lake Wilson dam, 4483 S. Lake Wilson Road.

Activities include a guided nature walk led by members of the Ozark Society. Volunteers may bring a canoe or kayak to help on the water.

Park hosts eagle cruises

Bald eagles are migrating south for winter at Beaver Lake and Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area eagle watch cruises have started.

Cruises aboard the park's 20-passenger pontoon boat set sail most Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. through February. Some weekday trips are offered during the holidays.

Cost is $10 for passengers 13 and older, or $5 for children 6-12. Reservations are required. For reservations and information, call the park visitor center, 479-789-5000.

Brews benefit Buffalo River

Beer for the Buffalo, an Ozark Society benefit in support of the Buffalo National River, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Fossil Cove Brewery, 1946 Birch Ave. in Fayetteville.

Brews for the Buffalo will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Airship Brews, 5000 SE Fifth St. in Bentonville.

Proceeds from the events go the Ozark Society's legal fund to protect the river from hog farm pollution.

The events include a short program and prize drawings. Beer and pizza are available for purchase.

Team Trail announces schedule

Northwest Arkansas Team Trail will hold five regular season bass tournaments and a two-day championship in 2019. All tournaments are at Beaver Lake.

Tournaments are March 2, March 30, April 27, May 18 and June 9. The championship is Oct. 5-6.
