Bank-heist suspect surrenders in NLR

A man accused of robbing a downtown Little Rock bank and a convenience store, escaping with about $60 worth of coins, has been arrested, authorities said.

Lynn Davis of North Little Rock was booked into the Pulaski County jail at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of aggravated robbery, records show. He remained in jail Thursday evening with no bail set.

Police said the 40-year-old held up the Simmons Bank branch in Simmons Tower at 425 W. Capitol Ave. shortly before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette previously reported.

A teller told authorities the robber entered the building, said he had a gun and demanded money, according to a police report. The employee gave him $60 in coins, and then the man ran away, authorities said.

After the bank holdup, Davis is accused of robbing the AGC Foodmart at 2901 Broadway in North Little Rock, according to an arrest report.

In an interview after surrendering to the North Little Rock Police Department Wednesday, Davis told investigators that he did not actually have a gun and that he had used the money he stole from the convenience store to buy drugs, the report said.

Accosted by robber, Rally's worker says

Little Rock police are investigating after a would-be robber threatened a woman with a gun from a drive-thru window at a fast-food restaurant Wednesday, according to a report.

The victim told police she was inside Rally's at 5400 W. 12th St. just before midnight when she saw a person walking around the building, checking the doors and shining a flashlight through the windows.

When he got to the drive-thru, he saw the 31-year-old employee and asked what she was doing, according to a Little Rock Police Department report. When she said that she was working, the assailant demanded all the money in the register, officers wrote.

He then put his hand in his pocket and implied that he had a gun, police said.

The report states that the woman refused to hand over the money, and the robber replied, "Y'all gonna give me all the money out [of] the register," or he would shoot up the restaurant.

The employee threatened to call the police, and the would-be robber said, "I don't give a f*** about the police. Call them," according to the report.

The woman then walked farther into the restaurant to avoid a possible shooting, and the robber left, shining his flashlight into other buildings, police said.

The robber was described as a black and wore a white Kangol brand hat, dark jacket and camouflage pants.

LR gunfire strikes woman, 27, in head

A 27-year-old woman was shot in the head Wednesday at her home in Little Rock, authorities said.

Police said the shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of Fulton Street.

Upon arrival, they found Ashley Scarbrough incoherent on the floor and bleeding from the head, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

She was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where she remained Thursday morning in critical condition, police spokesman Lt. Michael Ford said.

Ford said it wasn't clear if Scarbrough was the intended target of the gunfire.

A witness told authorities she saw a newer model Chevrolet Impala or Chevrolet Malibu drive north on Fulton Street after the shooting.

During a search of the property, officers found a large amount of "green leafy veggie materials" in the back of a vehicle that had been hit, the report states.
