Scouts attain

Eagle Scout

Boy Scout Troop 525, chartered by First United Methodist Church in Bentonville, recently awarded several members the rank of Eagle Scout. They were celebrated at an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony Feb. 24.

Nicholas Herlevic, 16, built three sidewalks and repoured two concrete squares for the Gravette Historical Museum. He is the son of Sara and Matt Herlevic of Bentonville and a junior at Haas Hall Academy in Bentonville.

Whittaker Friedman, 17, constructed a trophy case for his school. He is the son of Candy and Drew Friedman of Bentonville and junior at Haas Hall in Bentonville.

Patrick Hayes, 18, constructed and installed a bike rack for the Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Park in Bentonville. He is the son of April and Dennis Hayes of Bentonville and a senior at Bentonville High School.

Michael Tullis, 17, built three portable trap houses for the Benton County Quail Barn. He is the son of Sherri and Chad Tullis of Bentonville and junior at Bentonville High School.

Button earns

Scout award

Connor Button, 17, a member of Troop 46 at the Mount Sequoyah Retreat and Conference Center in Fayettevillle, recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He built and installed shelves in the band percussion room at Fayetteville High School. He is a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's honor society, and has served in several leadership positions. He's also visited the high-adventure bases at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and Northern Tier in Minnesota. He will attend this summer's National Order of the Arrow Conference at Indiana University. He is the son of Kristi and Rob Button of Fayetteville and a senior at Fayetteville High School.
