A man was arrested after stabbing his wife multiple times Monday morning in Springdale days after he was accused of trespassing at her apartment complex, according to police reports.

Officers arrived at the residence in the 400 block of Springdale's Main Street shortly after 8:45 a.m. to find a 32-year-old woman lying down and bleeding, a report from the city's Police Department states. The woman had been stabbed twice in the left bicep and had two cuts on her face, authorities said. Paramedics took the woman to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, and police noted there was "lots of blood" at the scene.

A witness told officers that the woman's husband, 36-year-old Say Lanje, was arguing with his wife in the parking lot. The man had a knife and began to attack the victim, according to the report. Lanje later returned to the parking lot, and officers ordered him to step out of his car and handcuffed him, the report states. Officeres noted there was blood on Lanje's vehicle and that he told them: "I did it, I stabbed her right here."

Lanje was taken to the Washington County jail on a first-degree domestic battery charge, according to the Washington County sheriff's office. He was released on a $7,500 bond Tuesday, authorities said. A separate police report shows that officers responded to the apartment complex for a disturbance call shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. Lanje, who is banned from the apartment, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and public intoxication, authorities said.
