The University of Arkansas offers a course on introduction to Jewish languages during the fall semester, taught by Jacob Adler, rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville. The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

The course will introduce the Hebrew alphabet and several languages written in Hebrew letters -- ancient and modern Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.

Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers, 201 W. Chestnut St., sponsors vacation Bible school at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Don Patton, an archaeologist, will speak and display some artifacts. Patton has made many trips to Mount Ararat, the alleged site of the ark, and worked all over the world.

A representative of the Gravette schools will speak, sharing information about the district's "Bright Futures" program. The church also collects school supplies for Gravette students.
